As I view the needs of the world out there and how seemingly detached the church is with His work I?m often staggered by Jesus? prophecy that the whole world will hear the Gospel. But when I have thoughts like those, I think back to when we were just starting JFA. The needs were soooo overwhelming it was hard to even think about. But then the Lord impressed upon my mind the value of just one soul. If we do all this work and spend all this money to save just one soul, heaven will consider it a good investment with an eternal reward!
Jesus said that His kingdom is not something we will see with eyes of flesh (Luke 17:20-21). It?s not about big buildings and prosperous institutions. It?s something that dwells in the heart, in the thoughts, the affections - in you, in this person, in that person - changes that take place in attitudes and work out in relationships. It is something seen by faith, grown by faith, fed by faith. It?s highest fruit? Faith that works by love. It?s highest aim, most costly treasure? The faith of a soul that connects with the source of life and blessing, Jesus Christ the beautiful.
And it works one soul at a time. One precious, valuable soul.
I pray you?ll be encouraged by these witnesses to God?s invisible grace, carried by faithful men and women who bare the invisible flame of faith to light the darkness and overcome it.
(These testimonies are from South India)
1. Padian?s Witness
My name is Padian. I live in Idira Nagar, Udumalaipet, South India. I am a hindu believer, my mother believes in Christ and goes to the Seventh-day Adventist church. I was not happy with her and paid no heed whenever she tried to talk with me about Christ. But recently a desire to know about Christ began to develop in me, I don?t know where it came from, it really must be God?s work. What my mother told me about Christ was not enough for me to get closer to God. So, I started attending the church. I was really fascinated by the way they worship there. I am ready to be baptized and be a witness for the almighty. Please pray for me to grow stronger in faith.
2. Uma?s Witness
I am Uma living in Kannadiputhur, Udumalaipet. My husband and I are Hindu believers. It?s now twelve years since we were married but not a single day have we lived in peace. We had a lot of differences and fought all the time. After Pastor made a visit to our home, we learned to pray and then started going to church. When Jesus became the head of our home, the fighting ceased and now we are at peace. We thank the almighty God for this miracle in our marriage. Please pray for us.
3. Manju?s Witness
I am Manju and I live in Pukkkulam. In my family only my mother and I remain. My father past away last year. I was so discouraged after I lost my father, I thought I had no one to care for me anymore. One day Sister Jennifer (a Jesus for Asia Bible Worker) met us and gave us a Bible study and made me understand that our heavenly father cares for us even though we lose our earthly father. It was really encouraging! Now days I am not worrying much. I thank God for bringing Sister Jennifer to us and helping us to understand many things from the Bible. Please pray for us.
4. Kaniammal?s Witness
I am Kaniammal, living in Pappankullam, Udumalaipet. I was baptized in the Adventist church but was not attending and was drifting away from God. Then I began to really suffer from severe pain in my leg combined with a high fever. Pastor Thomas heard about me and my sickness and came to my home. He prayed for me for fifteen consecutive days. God was so gracious to me and restored me to good health. Now I am coming to church and am getting closer to God the Almighty. Please pray for me to be strong in my faith.
5. Vijayan?s Witness
I am Vijayan living in Vallparai. I would get angry over every single little thing. once I was so angry with my wife for some simple thing that I beat her. So she left home and did not come back. I was worried very much and was suffering trying to care for my two children. Then Pastor Pazhaniswamy met me at my home and prayed for me and gave me Bible studies. He also made me understand that getting angry is not God?s way. Gradually I started to get angry less and less. Somehow my wife heard that I am not an angry man anymore and she came home. Now we are happy in Christ and we are ready to be baptized. Please pray for us and for my consistency.
6. Mani?s Witness
I am mani living in Angalakurrichi near Pollachi. I am a single-handed man, I lost one of my hands in an accident. In addition to this I recently got into the hold of the devil. I was really suffering a lot and trying to find someone who could help me. Elder Palasignam met me at home one fine day and prayed for me. From that day on there was little trouble in my family. Elder came to my home twenty consecutive days and prayed for us. Now my wife is saved from the hold of Satan and we have dedicated ourselves to the cause of our Lord and Savior. Please pray for us.
7. Iyappan?s Witness
I am Iyappan living in Kambalapatty near Pollachi. Some time ago I witnessed about how I got cured from sickness when Elder Ballasigngam prayed for me but I was not ready to be baptized at that time. After four months of Bible study, I have decided to be baptized and I also brought three of my brothers also to be baptized.
Please pray for me to continue to be a witness for God.
8. Sivba?s Witness
I am Siva living in Vallparai. When I was young I got diabetes. I was very much disturbed and I never joined in playing with my friends.
Sometime ago Pastor Ganesan Daniel met me at my home and made me to understand how great the living God is. Now I have the confidence that one day I will be cured by the grace of the Almighty. I am also ready to give myself to Christ the living God. Please remember me in your prayer.
Faith is the Victory!
